I just read this fascinating story by the BBC that researchers in the US have found a theoritical way to charge devices without using cables.

I find the idea amazing.   It reminds of how little we (the non-techies) understand of what is going on in all the technology gadgets that surround.  I always thought you needed some form of physical connection to carry power, but apparently not.  But how much do we really understand about how images, data, and voice is carried through waves.  It’s a kinda magic…
