Over the last year, VaccinesToday celebrated many accomplishments – they published 110 blog articles, achieved new levels of reach and visibility, and ushered in their second birthday. It has been a good year for VaccinesToday, but three milestones really stand out and, as Vaccines Europe’s partner on this initiative, we are keen to share them.
- Receiving Health on the Net Certification
Last April, the Health on the Net Foundation (HON) awarded VaccinesToday a Certificate of Compliance for the 8 principles in their Code of Conduct. This marks an important step in VaccinesToday’s history because their commitment to delivering the highest standards of health information and to engage with the public in an ethical and transparent way has now been officially recognized.
You can find VaccinesToday’s certificate and more information here.
- Announcing “Communication Challenge” winners
In July, VaccinesToday launched the Communication Challenge, an ambitious competition giving students the opportunity to improve the image of vaccination. Among a host of other incentives, the winners were to receive a €1,000 prize and see their concept implemented.
The news travelled fast! The campaign attracted over 6,000 page views and 4,600 ‘likes’ on Facebook! You can see the winning entry by Gianmarco Gasperini and Francesca Martini from the University of Bologna in this article.
Here’s a quick recap of the campaign:
- The launch of Vaccination Café
Not your usual cup of coffee, Vaccination Café is a casual and informal interview series with medical experts designed to raise awareness and increase understanding of the benefits of immunization. They published four videos this year and attracted 2000 views!
